Many farmers are racing against time to harvest their crops early, hoping to avoid further losses from the threat of #JulianPH, after being hit by previous typhoons.

Some farmers have dried their crops while others have started harvesting early to prevent damage.

"Harvest na siguro, may konting lugi. Kasi kaunti lang harvest mo. Kasi pag dumapa, di pa mapakinabangan, bulok na," Jo Gutlay, a farmer, said.

Manuel Aquino, an agriculture technician, also advised farmers to act fast.

"Pag dumapa ‘yung palay, malaki ‘yung lugi... kaya kung sakali pwedeng anihin na ‘yung palay, anihin na nila," Aquino said.

In Mangaldan, 80 percent of farmers are registered with the Department of Agriculture, and can avail of financial assistance through the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation if their crops are damaged by a typhoon.
