Students at San Jose East Elementary School in San Jose City were startled when a six-foot snake was discovered hanging from the ceiling of their gymnasium.

The snake's presence caused panic among the students, prompting teachers to call barangay officials and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for help.

Jerne Lloyd Agustin, an accredited wildlife rescuer, removed the snake carefully using a specialized tool from a boom truck.

The snake was brought down safely and is now under the care of the Wildlife Rescue Center of DENR Nueva Ecija.

Officials believe the snake may have been disturbed from its habitat due to recent flooding.
