A 58-year-old rider died after he was run over by a dump truck in Davao City.
Police said the motorcycle and the truck were both traveling the Davao-Cotabato Highway in Barangay Binugao going to Barangay Inawayan.
The truck was on the inner lane while the motorcycle was on the middle lane.
Upon reaching the place of incident, the truck was allegedly sideswiped by the motorcycle. Because of the impact, the rider was thrown off the vehicle to the ground. The wheel of the truck hit his head.
The truck driver is now in police custody and may face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and damage to property.
He did not issue a statement.
