Two Philippine cobras were rescued safely in Barangay San Felipe, Naga City, Camarines Sur on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

The snakes each measured 1.3 meters and weighing about half a kilogram.

They were turned over quickly to the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Camarines Sur.

A resident of the area found the snakes, according to Alex San Jose, leader of the rescue team and division chief of the Naga City ENRO-Watershed Management Division.

"Yung grupo po ng ENRO animal rescue ang nakahuli pero ang nag-report po yung resident," he said.

Authorities urged the public to avoid harming or attempting to capture these animals if they lack proper training in wild animal handling.

"Wag po sasaktan o mag-attempt na hulihin kung wala silang training sa wild animal handling. Ang mga ahas po ay tulad din natin, na parte ng mundo na ito na may karapatan din mabuhay," San Jose said.
