Family feud or “rido” has been eyed as possible reason for the ongoing firefight that killed two men and wounded four others in Malabang, Lanao del Sur.
The exchange of fire between the two armed groups has been going on for nearly two weeks, as of this writing, forcing hundreds of residents to flee their homes.
The barangays affected are Bacayawan and Tubok.
During the encounter on September 24, 2024, two men were killed and four others were wounded.
Police identified the fatalities as alias “Fajad” and alias “Nodin.” Those who were wounded are residents of Malabang town and Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.
Police and military are on full alert to intervene and ensure the safety of residents.
