The body of a 20-year-old woman who had been missing was found buried in the sand at a beach in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Evalend Salting, a college student from Anda, Pangasinan, was seen last on closed circuit television (CCTV) footage leaving her apartment in Lingayen evening on September 23, 2024.

"Nakikita namin sinusundo siya ng boyfriend niya, bumabalik naman siya ng before 10 p.m.," Rea Bacarizas, caretaker of the building, said.

A family walking along the shoreline in Barangay Poblacion discovered Salting’s body. It had a wound in the head.

As of this writing, police await the autopsy results to determine if Salting was assaulted sexually.

As part of their investigation, authorities have asked for a statement from three people, including Salting's boyfriend.

"Kinukuhanan ng statement, ini-imbestigahan. Itinanggi niya pero hindi tayo nagtatapos doon," PLTCOL. Amor Mio Somine of Lingayen Police Station, said.

The investigation continues with police reviewing more CCTV footage to uncover additional details.
