Some vendors are being blamed for the clogged drainage at the Agdao Public Market in Davao City.

Marketgoers and other vendors have complained about the foul smell that has emanated from the drainage problem.

The water could not flow properly into the main canal as the pipe used is allegedly small.

However, market inspector Paul Alparaque said what caused the problem are some vendors allegedly throwing their waste anywhere.

In a video he showed, an alleged vendor is seen throwing trash into the drainage.

The vendor was reportedly issued with a notice of violation.

Alparaque added that market sweepers clean the canal regularly.

“Kining mga sweeper every night gina-manage namin na ma clean out ang mga kanal,” Alparaque said.
