A farmer was killed while a vegetable vendor was wounded in separate shooting incidents in Zamboanga City.

According to the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), the 32-year-old farmer was resting at his house in Barangay Bungiao when the assailant arrived and shot him.

The victim was hit in the chest and in his back.

Meanwhile, the 60-year-old vegetable vendor survived after he was shot at the Catalina Wet Market in Barangay Catalina.

Police said the victim was on his way home on board his multicab when two men riding a motorcycle shot him.

The victim was hit in the left side of his chest but was able to jump out of his vehicle and escape. He is now in stable condition.

ZCPO has opened an investigation to determine the motives in the two incidents.

A tracker team has also been formed to hunt the perpetrators down.

“The Zamboanga City Police Office is conducting a thorough investigation into both incidents. Authorities are actively seeking information that could lead to the identification and apprehension of the suspects involved. The community is highly encouraged to remain vigilant and report any relevant information to fasten resolve the case. The safety of our residents is our highest priority,” ZCPO said.
