The Animal Bite Center of the Cagayan de Oro City Health Office has warned the public to avoid getting bitten by any animal as the supply of anti-rabies vaccine is getting scarce.
Starting Monday, September 23, 2024, the office can only give free one dose of anti-rabies vaccine for category 2 patients or those bitten by animals like dogs and cats.
A patient must get four shots of the anti-rabies vaccine depending on the exposure.
The Animal Bite Center, however, assured that it is already in the process of purchasing additional vaccines.
But no specific date yet as to when the vaccines will arrive.
