At least 11 people were injured when a passenger jeepney lost its brakes and overturned while traveling on a winding road in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur.
According to police, the jeepney was traveling to Narvacan, Ilocos Sur from Bangued, Abra when it lost its brakes on a steep, curved section of the Ilocos Sur-Abra Road in Barangay Lungog.
The driver, in an attempt to prevent the vehicle from falling off the cliff, crashed the vehicle into the base of a hill to bring it to a stop.
All 11 passengers, including the driver, sustained injuries.
The jeepney's operator has already spoken to the victims and promised to help cover their medical expenses.
Police reminded motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition, especially in accident-prone areas like the site of the crash.
