Anti-illegal drug operatives seized suspected shabu worth around P34 million in separate buy-bust operations in Zamboanga City.

Personnel of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-Zamboanga (RDEU-9) and Joint Task Force Poseidon launched a buy-bust operation in Barangay Talisayan and confiscated sachets of suspected shabu worth more than P20 million.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of three suspects considered as high value targets in the illegal drug trade. The suspects are from Tawi-Tawi and Sulu.

“I salute the operatives of the RDEU 9 and the JTF-Poseidon for the successful seizure of more than 20 million pesos worth of shabu.

Meanwhile, three other drug personalities were also arrested in a sting operation in Barangay Boalan.

During the operation, sachets of suspected shabu worth around P13.6 million were seized from the suspects.

The seized items in the two operations were forwarded to the Regional Forensic Unit-9 for examination.

All suspects arrested are now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
