Former President Rodrigo Duterte led the oath taking of new officials of the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) during the party’s national assembly in Davao City evening on Friday, September 20, 2024.

The party also endorsed some senatorial bets for the 2025 midterm elections, including Philip Salvador.

Senators Ronald Dela Rosa and Bong Go also declared to seek reelection.

“Ako po’y PDP. Tinatanggap ko po ang hamon Ninyo,” Salvador said.

“Pag matawid natin ang 2025, ipakita natin na tayo ay tumakbo hindi para manira ng kapwa,” Dela Rosa added.

Go also thanked those who supported the party.

“Bilog ang mundo, nasa atin ang tapat na panunungkulan,” Go said.

PDP said the line-up of senatorial candidates has not been finalized yet as the alliance of four parties has just been formed.

PDP President, Senator Robin Padilla, led the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the alliance of PDP, Partido Reforma, Pederalismo ng Dugong Dakilang Samahan (PDDS), and Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte–National Executive Coordinating Committee (MRRD NECC).

The party also decided to retain “Laban” in the party name after it was removed during the party’s 42nd anniversary celebration in April 2024.

Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte also thanked his colleagues for accepting him as the party’s vice president.

“Kung gusto talaga nating baguhin yung bansa natin, at least alam ko yung mga kasamahan ko handa magpakamatay para sa bansa natin,” the mayor said.

This year’s national assembly was attended by around 1,000 party members across the country.
