A new cashless bus transportation system called the Clark Loop has been launched officially, aiming to make commuting faster, hassle-free, and high-tech within the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga.

The Clark Loop is the first cashless public transportation system in Central Luzon, introduced to improve the commute for workers in the Clark Freeport Zone.

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sees this as a major step toward modernizing transportation in the area.

LTFRB officials believe that if this system proves successful, it could inspire broader implementation across the region.

"Mukhang ito pa lang [sa Central Luzon], and it would be nice if this becomes successful, embraced by everybody… kailangan dito magtulungan… benefits will be felt by our commuters," Usec. Jesus Ferdinand Ortega from the Department of Transportation said.

The initial fleet includes 10 Clark Loop buses, each capable of carrying 42 passengers, with routes going both northbound and southbound, including stops at the Clark International Airport.

Commuters must use beep cards for payments, with the base fare set at P15 for the first five kilometers, and an additional P2.50 per kilometer.

Discounts are available for seniors and persons with disabilities (PWDs).

"Mayroon tayong WiFi, dirediretso ang ating pagte-text, pag-e-FB… third, cashless ito, beep cards, so wala ng sukli-sukli, mabilis," Atty. Agnes Devanadera, Clark Development Corporation President and CEO, said.

The Clark Loop is set to make commuting not only quicker but also more convenient with its modern features like onboard WiFi and GPS, allowing passengers to stay connected and track their location.
