Alleged scammers operating in Bacolod City and other areas in the Province of Negros Occidental fell in an entrapment operation of the Bacolod City Police.

The police conducted a long-term monitoring on the operation of the group that offered artificial insemination to cows.

The group guaranteed reportedly that cows get to reproduce quickly with the use of their products.

The bottled products were sold at about P30,000 each, police said.

The group also sought to buy a house purportedly for a foreign national buyer.

“Ang victim last year nakuhaan P700,000. Ang victim sang 2022, nakuhaan P225 mil. Balay man ang baklon. Same modus gihapon. (Ang victim last year ay nakunan ng 700 thousand pesos, ang victim noong 2022, nakunan ng 225 thousand pesos. Bahay rin umano ang bibilhin. Same modus pa rin),” Lt. Col. Joery Puerto, head of the City Investigation and Detection Management Unit, said.

According to the police, the scammers belong to an organized group operating in other parts of the country. The group operates with personnel who claim to be a salesman, a buyer, a coordinator, an expert in artificial insemination, a customer who will vouch for the effectivity of the product, among others.

However, a target victim went suspicious and coordinated with the police that led to an entrapment operation conducted on September 17, 2024 in a subdivision in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City.

The suspects were identified only as a certain “Arnold,” 64 years old of Sampaloc, Manila; and the father-and-son tandem of alias “Alan,” 63, and alias “Nelson,” 20 years old, reportedly from Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

“Migohay ang anay victim kag ang supposed to be victim kahapon, pakitaan picture. “Sila gid na ang nagbudol sa akon.” Nagfile kami kaso last year sa sini nga mga tawo, may warrant na na (Magkaibigan ang dating victim at ang supposed victim, pinakitaan ng picture. “Sila yan ang nagbudol sa akin [sabi ng dating victim].” Nagfile kami ng kaso last year sa mga taong ito, may warrant na yan),” Lt. Col. Puerto added.

Alias “Arnold” admitted that they have a number of members. They seek well-off persons who are interested in doubling their money through investments in artificial insemination.

“Halimbawa ikaw, kahit mayaman ka na, meron kang pera pa at gustong yumaman pa. Maging gahaman ka at greedy,” Arnold said.

The police are tracking down an Arabian national said to be part of the group.

A case for estafa has been filed against the suspects.
