Close to 20,000 dengue cases were logged in Central Visayas. Over 6,000 of the cases were found to be positive. 

According to data from the Center for Health Development Communications Management Unit of the Department of Health 7, the Province of bohol has the most number of dengue cases from January to August 31, 2024. The cases reached 6,354 with 12 deaths.

The Province of Cebu took the second spot on the list with 5,956 cases; 13 succumbed to dengue.

On third is the Province of Negros Oriental with 3,373 and six death cases; while the Province of Siquijor logged 807 cases with zero deaths.

For highly urbanized cities, the City of Cebu topped the list with 1,839 and five death cases.

The City of Lapu-Lapu is on second spot with 685 and zero death cases.

Cases in Mandaue City reached 554 with three casualties.

Of the 19,568 dengue cases recorded, confirmed cases logged 6,287 while probable cases reached 7,447. As for suspected cases, the figures reached 5,834.
