For several days, fishermen like Julius Llamas from Barangay Bonuan Gueset, Dagupan City have not sailed out to sea.

As authorities suspend fishing activities due to warnings related to #GenerPH, so is his main source of livelihood.

Fishing in Dagupan City has been on hold for almost two weeks due to severe weather conditions. Fishermen have secured their boats in elevated parts of the shore.

This suspension started with #EntengPH and continued with the recent warnings for #GenerPH.

"Sa gilid malakas ang alon pero sa gitna kalmado naman pero hindi muna talaga ako lalaot," Llamas said.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) has enforced strict regulations, including a no sailing, no swimming, and no fishing policy along the city's shores.

"Nakausap natin ang PCG (Philippine Coast Guard) at talagang nakabantay sila diyan," Ronald De Guzman, Dagupan City DRRM Officer, said.

As CDRRMO monitors the situation closely, the local government has provided aid to the fishermen.

While weather in Dagupan City was cloudy in the morning on September 17, 2024, heavy rains brought by #GenerPH poured early afternoon.
