With floodwaters from #EntengPH and the southwest monsoon yet to subside as of this writing, residents of Barangay Talibaew, Calasiao, Pangasinan are worried the situation will worsen due to #GenerPH.

In anticipation of this possibility, many residents have chosen to keep their belongings on the second floor of their homes.

"Nangangamba kami kasi babaha na naman kapag ganito, aakyat na naman kami," Billeta Barongan, a resident, said.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) is monitoring the situation closely, particularly the water level in the Marusay River, which could rise if heavy rains persist.

"’Yun ang isa sa mino-monitor at binabantayan natin and, thankfully, mula sa monitoring natin kahapon, actually bumaba ang level sa Marusay River," Kristine Joy Soriano, spokesperson of the Calasiao DRRM Office, said.

As of 9 a.m. on September 17, 2024, the Marusay River is still at 4.9 feet above its normal level.

The MDRRMO continues to focus on seven barangays still experiencing floods, including Nalsian, Lumbang, Poblacion East, Talibaew, Lasip, Gabon, and Longos.
