A member of the LGBTQIA+ community was found dead inside an inn in Cagayan de Oro on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Police said that prior to the incident, the 40-year-old victim allegedly checked in with three young men, around 17 to 20 years old, at past 2 a.m.

After three hours, the room attendant was forced to open the room after no one answered when he knocked on the door.

The victim was found lifeless under the bed with feet tied.

“So, after three hours gituktok ang maong room ug wala’y nag-response so giablihan siya ug nakita didto naa ang patay’ng lawas didto ilawom sa katre,” Divisoria Police Station Chief, Major Peter Tajor, said.

The three men were no longer at the room and the victim’s car parked near the inn was also lost.

Authorities raised the possibility that robbery was the motive behind the incident.

The victim’s body was subjected to autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Investigation into the incident continues to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

“Kabalo naman na ang mga suspek sa gihimo nila kung makadungog man sila, mu-surrender na lang sila kay ang kapulisan sa COCPO nagpadayun sa pag-trace sa ilaha,” Tajor added.
