Two members of the New People's Army (NPA) were killed in a clash with soldiers in Sitio Pallay, Barangay Baliuag, Peñablanca, Cagayan.
The clash, which occurred between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. on September 11, 2024 involved approximately 17 members of the NPA’s Cagayan Valley Regional Committee.
One of the deceased was identified by the alias ‘Jorly,’ while the identity of the other remains under investigation.
The firefight lasted for about 20 minutes before the NPA members withdrew.
The military is currently conducting clearing operations in the area to ensure it is secure.
