A barangay councilman in Agusan del Sur was arrested for alleged involvement in illegal drug trade.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Caraga (PDEA-13) conducted a buy-bust operation, which resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old councilman in one of the barangays in Talacogon town.
Authorities considered the suspect a high value target in the illegal drug trade.
Seized from the suspect was a sachet of suspected shabu worth around P10,000.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
