Explosives and other war materials were seized in Datu Salibo, Maguindanao del Sur, a discovery that the military said foiled what may have been an attempt of lawless elements to sow violence.

According to the 6th Infantry Division (6ID), two individuals reportedly scampered upon seeing troops from the Combined Arms Team 99 (CAT99) of the 1st Brigade Combat Team.

When the military went to the area where the two individuals were seen, they found some war materials, including anti-personnel mines and improvised explosive device covered by a sack.

Among the explosives recovered were a 105mm high explosive projectile, 81mm high explosive ctg, three grenades, and other IED components.

These items are believed to belong to a terrorist group.
