A tile store in Barangay Lourdes Northwest, Angeles City caught fire on September 11, 2024 with the blaze spreading rapidly through the establishment.

Based on initial investigation, the fire broke out at the back of the store, which sold various types of lighting products.

Tapos ‘yung portion na iyon, marami kasing stock doon kaya doon talaga nag-concentrate — doon talaga ‘yung apoy," SFO3 Rustico Castro, Operations Chief of Angeles City Fire Station, said.

The fire, fueled by plastic insulators, spread quickly throughout the store. Roads had to be closed to allow fire trucks to access the scene, and firefighters battled the blaze for two hours before it was brought under control.

No one was injured, and neighboring businesses were not affected.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is still determining the cause of the fire and assessing damage, as of this writing.

Castro reminded the public to unplug appliances when not in use.
