Several days of good weather have not been enough to send evacuees in Barangay Malued, Dagupan City, back home.

Flooding still persists in many areas, forcing 39 families or 124 individuals to stay at the evacuation center.

One evacuee, Juliet Velasco from Zone 2, cited health concerns due to the stagnant floodwaters.

"Kasi syempre, ‘yung mga bata naman, mga nagti-tricycle, may mga alipunga sila. Alam niyo naman, may leptospirosis tayo —nakakatakot din naman," she said.

Barangay officials continue to monitor the situation, with residents from low-lying areas like Sitio Fisheries, Kalye Dos, Calarin, Zone 1, and Zone 2 still unable to return home.

According to Barangay Chairperson Filipina Delos Santos, the floodwaters are slow to recede.

"Sa ngayon, wala pa namang umaalis sa ating mga evacuee dahil nga gaya ng sabi natin, sa looban, malalim pa sa kanila," she said.

"So, nahihirapan lumabas ‘yung tubig ngayon gawa ng may matataas na creeks at may mga nakaharang siguro kaya nahihirapan bumalik ang tubig pabalik ng ilog," she added.

Officials estimate that it could take two to three more days for the flood to subside fully, and they will continue monitoring until it is safe for evacuees to return home.
