Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Police General Rommel Marbil, announced on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, that President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. will give gifts to police officers involved in the operations at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) in Davao City.

The police officers will also be given a five-day vacation.

“You have to spend your time with your family. We are proud of you, our men in uniform. Dito lang nakilala ang PNP, hindi lang sa Pilipinas kundi sa buong mundo so happy vacation sa mga tao natin,” Marbil said.

Marbil and PRO-11 Director, Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, also led the laying of a wreath at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani to honor all police heroes, including Torre’s father, Master Sergeant Rodolfo Torre, who died in an ambush in Koronadal, South Cotabato in 1990.

“I am the happiest person that we did not add another name in this memorial naisagawa natin ang operasyon ng mapayapa at walang namatay sa ating lahat,” Torre said.

Marbil also partook in a boodle fight as thanksgiving for the dedication of police officers who were deployed to the KOJC compound to serve the arrest warrant against Quiboloy.

During his visit, Marbil refuted reports that Quiboloy came from North Cotabato and went to the KOJC compound to eventually surrender.

Marbil maintained that Quiboloy and his four co-accused were cornered at the Bible school, one of the buildings inside the KOJC compound.

“Doon siya nagpakita sa Bible school ang sinasabi nila nakapasok? Galing siya sa labas, hindi pwedeng mangyari yun, that’s very impossible… ang galing ng intelligence naming… ang KOJC na lock namin yan, there’s no way out. He was arrested inside. Ni-relieve ko na sana ang PD ng North Cotabato… malabo yun, di mangyayari yun… we have high patrol on the ground, we have intelligence,” Marbil said.

“Huli naman talaga kung surrender ka… sumurrender ka sa first day, gusto mo naman palang sumurrender pero kung na-corner ka, arestado ka na,” he added.

Atty. Israelito Torreon, chief legal counsel of KOJC, said earlier that Quiboloy surrendered to the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) because he did not want to see his followers suffer and the KOJC properties destroyed.

Marbil said it is not true that the military had Quiboloy first.

“Palusot na lang nila yun let’s give them the benefit of the doubt kasi wala po hindi po mangyayari yan,” Marbil said.

Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib earlier said he helped facilitate the negotiation for the surrender of Quiboloy by bridging communication between the board of directors of KOJC, including Torreon, and ISAFP. He said it was agreed in the dialogue that the PNP will only be informed that Quiboloy has surrendered when he is already secured by ISAFP.

Meanwhile, Marbil also said that the reward money will be given to the informants who provided information leading to the arrest of Quiboloy and his co-accused.

“Hindi pa binibigay sa amin ng magbibigay pero sabi niya we will give it to you. Hindi ko alam kong papano. Pero tuloy talaga yan.. May mga buhay kasi kaming kailangang alagaan,” Marbil said.
