The Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) is studying possible charges it may file against Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) following the more than two weeks of police operations at the compound before Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his co-accused surrendered to authorities.

“Sa ngayon ay pinag-aaralan na ng Regional Legal Office namin kung anong nga kasong pwede nating isampa against the KOJC,” PRO-11 Spokesperson, Major Catherine Dela Rey, said.

Since the police operation started on August 24, 2024, KOJC members have protested the presence of the police and the alleged abuses that came along the search for Quiboloy, including alleged damage to property.

Evening on August 24, KOJC members took their grievances to the street outside the compound near the Davao airport, which disrupted traffic and prompted authorities to make changes to airport operations.

The group’s legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon, said earlier that Quiboloy made a sacrifice by turning himself in because ‘he does not want lawless violence to continue to happen in the compound and he could not bear to witness a second longer the sufferings that his flock was experiencing for many days.’

Quiboloy surrendered to the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines because he did not trust the PNP.

PRO-11 said it will look into the damage the operation left at the compound.

“Hindi namin ‘yan babaliwalain. Of course, dadaan parin sa proper process bago natin i-compensate,” Dela Rey said.

Meanwhile, the morale at PRO-11 is reportedly high as it considers Quiboloy now being under police custody a big accomplishment.

The police officers who took part in the operation at the KOJC compound have returned to their mother units in the regions where they came from after Quiboloy surrendered.

PNP Spokesperson, Col. Jean Fajardo, said Quiboloy and his four co-accused will remain at the PNP custodial center in Camp Crame despite a court order for their transfer to Quezon City Jail.

PRO-11 said it is ready to appear in court if needed for the trial of Quiboloy.

“Ang magiging role ng PRO-11 na kung kailangan maging witness doon sa gumugulong na na proseso sa pagharap nila sa kaso ay willing naman na mag-testify,” Dela Rey said.

PRO-11 is also ready to face the charges the KOJC will file against police officers involved in the operation.
