The cops – more than 2,000 of them – deployed to search for Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) leader Apollo Quiboloy have pulled out of the KOJC compound in Davao City following the pastor’s surrender.

The operation to serve the warrant on Quiboloy and his co-accused lasted for 16 days until Quiboloy surrendered to the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) on September 8, 2024, Sunday.

Compared to the early days of the operation when tension at the KOJC compound was palpable, the atmosphere inside and outside of the compound was considerably calm and quiet on Monday, September 9.

No less than President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. told Malacañang reporters on September 9 that Quiboloy had requested for military presence because he does not trust the PNP.

Also now with authorities are Jackielyn Roy, Ingrid Canada, Crisente Canada, and Syliva Cemañes.

Earlier reports said Quiboloy turned himself in to ISAFP at around 5:30 p.m. on September 8.

He and his alleged co-accused were flown out of Davao at 6:30 p.m. and arrived at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City at around 8:30 p.m. They were taken to Camp Crame in Quezon City and underwent the booking process.

Quiboloy is facing charges for alleged violation of Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.

He is also facing a non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended, before a Pasig court.

He has since denied the allegations.

ULTIMATUM?

Police have claimed Quiboloy allegedly surrendered after the PNP gave a 24-hour ultimatum.

Jean Fajardo, said.

Police reportedly served the arrest warrants after Quiboloy and his co-accused arrived at the custodial center of the PNP.

In an interview with GMA Super Radyo DZBB, KOJC chief legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon, maintained that they did not receive the supposed ultimatum.

Meanwhile, Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) Director, Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, said he is ready to face the charges the KOJC will file against him.

“Okay lang, sagutin natin as they come,” Torre said.
