Five employees of the provincial government of Agusan del Norte have tested positive for illegal drugs.

According to Provincial Administrator Elizabeth Marie Calo, 250 of 2,000 employees have undergone random drug testing.

These workers come from different offices, including the province-run hospitals.

Those who tested positive will be placed under confirmatory test and once the results are confirmed, they will face administrative sanctions.

As of this writing, the five continue to work in their respective offices.

Based on the ordinance, the provincial government regularly conducts random drug testing to ensure a drug-free workplace.

“The next move will be, they will undergo an assessment from doh kung anong klaseng  users… i-a-assess sila sa mga medical physician from DOH. Worst case scenario they will undergo rehabilitation,” Calo said.
