A suspected pit allegedly dug by the police at the basement of Jose Maria College (JMC) of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) was found during the ocular inspection conducted by the Senate on Friday, September 6, 2024.

During the inspection, the team found a pile of lumber at the area where KOJC members suspected that the pit was dug.

After removing the lumber, fresh concrete that allegedly covered the pit was observed.

The Office of the City Building Official (OCBO) confirmed through ultrasonic concrete testing equipment that the fresh concrete is around one to two days old.

“Ito siya, confirmed talaga na fresh board concrete. So, 1 to 2 days old siya… Ang strength ng concrete as of now, which is less than 1,500 PSI… ang conclusion ng ating engineers, it is really fresh,” Acting Davao City Building Official, Architect Khashayar Toghyani, said.

Senator Ronald dela Rosa ordered to have the concrete removed to confirm if there is a pit.

OCBO believed that the soil excavated was dumped into the pit before the cement was poured.

“In a short span of time, hindi man nila yan ma-compact ng maayos balik. So, ma-compare natin yung compaction ng soil na original na dito versus doon. So, ma-confirm din talaga natin kung hinukay,” Toghyani added.

The team also found what seemed to be a fresh concrete patch at a portion of a wall where a hole was believed to have been drilled.

“The activity this morning, more than overwhelming proof, really proves that they have been illegally conducting tunneling activities,” KOJC chief legal counsel, Atty. Israelito Torreon, said.

The team also checked what the police earlier claimed to be a secret hallway at the back of the cathedral.

KOJC maintained that these are lounge and holding rooms connected to the room of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

“Sa KOJC cathedral, may hole din doon na ginawa sila. Na-confirm din na yung secret rooms, hindi naman secret. Daanan lang talaga ‘yun from the holding room ni Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy sa kabila at tsaka may room siya doon, wala pong signal doon,” Torreon said.

The inspection team also checked other areas including the hangar and scanner area of KOJC.
