Despite his disclosure on molesting his stepdaughter, no case was filed yet against Rene John Nacis.

Nacis admitted molesting his stepdaughter, Pearl Joy, when she was just 12 years old.

Nacis has been considered by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) as a suspect in the slay of 15-year-old Pearl Joy who was found dumped in a sugarcane field in Barangay Cubay, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on August 14, 2024.

She was last seen alive on July 29, 2024 reportedly at a road crossing in Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City where she was expecting to meet someone, based on her chat messages with her cousin.

As no case has been filed yet against Nacis, he is not placed under the custody of the NBI. He is not under the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), either.

According to NBI Bacolod District Executive Officer William de Arca, Jr. additional witnesses to the investigation are needed.

De Arca has warned Nacis from getting away.

Meanwhile, Jennnifer Galve, the mother of the victim, is under the custody of the NBI following a request for protection against her live-in partner, Nacis.

Earlier, Galve sought a temporary restraining order for fear that Nacis would come home to her.
