Despite Tropical Storm #EntengPH leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), Calasiao remains on high alert as water levels in the Marusay River continue to rise due to ongoing rains.

The Calasiao Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) is monitoring the Marusay River, which has reached 6.9 feet above its normal level as of 10 a.m. of September 5, 2024.

The continuous rainfall is expected to bring water levels up more.

"Patuloy na nating binabantayan ang ating Marusay River dahil from our monitoring, bahagya ang kaniyang pagtaas at the same time tuloy-tuloy yung pag-ulan," said Khristine Joy Soriano, spokesperson for the Calasiao DRRM Office.

Several residents in Barangay Poblacion East have already been affected by flooding.

According to the MDRRMO, five barangays in Calasiao are experiencing flooding:

  • Poblacion East
  • Talibayew
  • Nalsian
  • Lumbang
  • Lasip

The MDRRMO continues to monitor the situation as rains persist.
