Former Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo was arrested in Tangerang, Indonesia early morning on September 4, 2024, according to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).

The commission said Guo is in the custody of the Indonesian police.

The PAOCC also said that the Philippine Bureau of Immigration is coordinating with Indonesian authorities to expedite Guo's return to the Philippines.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) said Guo will be made to face all charges filed against her upon her return.

BACKGROUND

Guo is facing a human trafficking complaint connected to the raid of a Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Bamban, along with a money laundering complaint filed with DOJ.

Additionally, a quo warranto petition has been filed against her in a Manila court, alongside a petition to cancel her birth certificate in a Tarlac court.

Guo left the Philippines in July 2024.

In an August hearing, Shiela Guo, believed to be the former mayor’s sister, testified that she, Guo, and Wesley Guo fled the country using multiple boats.
