The informant who played a key role in locating the bodies of Kapampangan beauty queen Geneva Lopez and her fiancé Yitshak Cohen was recognized by the Pampanga Provincial Peace and Order Council, receiving a P1 million reward for his contribution.

Alias "Jun-Jun" was presented to the Pampanga Provincial Peace and Order Council and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

"Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng nagbigay sa akin ng tulong, lalong-lalo na kay Gov, maraming salamat po, puwedeng pag-umpisa ulit ng panibagong buhay ko po," the informant said.

The couple went missing in June 2024, last seen heading to Capas, Tarlac in an SUV for a land transaction.

With the informant's help, authorities traced their remains to a remote quarry site in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Capas, on July 6.

One of the suspects in the double murder is a former policeman who reportedly acted as a middleman in the couple’s land deal.

Lt. Col. Jake Manguerra, head of CIDG-Tarlac, confirmed that charges have been filed.

"’Yung kaso naman natin ay naisampa na sa DOJ (Department of Justice) noong nakaraang araw. Mayroon po tayong na-file-an na lima at meron pa pong ibang John Doe’s na kasama, meron tayong ifinile na double murder," Manguerra said.

The reward money was pooled from the council and an anonymous donor from the business sector.

Governor Dennis Pineda emphasized the importance of the witness’ safety.

"Ngayon in-award-[an] na natin and then [we now] make sure na ‘yung witness, na binilin ko sa PNP, na safe po," Pineda said.

Additionally, the LGU of Sto. Tomas, the hometown of Geneva Lopez, provided another P150,000 to support the case.

The investigation continues as authorities seek justice for the slain couple.
