The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is set to file charges against 15 foreign nationals who tried to enter the Philippines illegally in Tawi-Tawi on September 1, 2024.

According to BI, the 15 includes eight Chinese and seven Malaysians.

The 15 on board two speedboats were intercepted by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA), Philippine Navy (PN), and military during maritime patrol in the border areas.

Based on initial verification, the 15 were found to be illegal entrants as no record of their entry was found.

The 15 who were believed to have attempted to enter the country to work illegally shall face deportation charges and blacklisting.
