A 13-year-old student was killed after the van she was riding on the way to school figured in an accident in Mati City, Davao Oriental.
According to the Mati Police Station, the van was also carrying 10 other students, 14 to 17 years old.
The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle upon reaching the curved part of the road. As a result, the vehicle reportedly lost its brakes and fell into a cliff.
The 13-year-old girl did not reach the hospital alive. Other passengers sustained injuries.
The family of the victim will no longer file charges against the driver after the two parties reportedly reached an agreement.
