A barangay chairman and his wife survived an ambush in Davao City morning on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
Police said the chairman of Barangay Datu Salumay in Marilog District and his wife were travelling the Bukidnon Road. Upon reaching Purok 1 in Barangay Datu Salumay, two assailants wearing bonnets blocked their way and fired shots.
The barangay chairman was unharmed, but his wife was hit in the knee.
Police have launched a hot pursuit operation to arrest the perpetrators.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing to determine the motive behind the ambush.
