A male teacher bit allegedly two of his male Grade 10 students at the Don Vicente Rama Memorial National High School (DVRMNHS) in Barangay Basak Pardo, Cebu City.

The students are ages 17-years old and 14-years old.

The father of one of the students who is a policeman said he is determined to file a case against the teacher.

According to the father of the 17-year-old student, his son was asked by the MAPEH teacher to remove his shirt. If he does not follow, there would be a consequence, the teacher reportedly said. But even when the student followed the instruction, the teacher reportedly proceeded to bite him at the back.

“Pahuboon man niya og t-shirt, kanang 'show me your abs',” the father said based on his son’s retelling.

Upon learning of the bite wound, he took his son to the Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) for a medical examination and had the incident reported at the Police Station 7 in Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City for the appropriate charges to be filed against the teacher.

“Makapasaylo man, pero naa may law, he has to face the consequences, this is also to discipline him,” the father said.

Meanwhile, the mother of the 14-year-old student went emotional upon learning that the teacher also bit the arm of her son. Her son refused reportedly sexual advances made by the teacher. However, her son said, the teacher had kissed him.

The parents went to see Barangay Chairman Dave Tumulak to complain against the teacher.

“Makita man sad nato nga duna say ebidensya sama sa medical certificate, sa pictures, sa videos, plus statements unya puhon, makita man nato unya nga naa gyuy probable cause,” Tumulak said.

Noel Auxtero and Noel Nacorda, head teachers at DVRMNHS, said that they have already submitted a report on the incident to the Cebu City Department of Education (DepEd) Division, and that the students and the rest who have witnessed the incident are set to undergo counseling and stress debriefing as an intervention.

The regional director of DepEd Central Visayas said he already received a report and reiterated on the agency's zero tolerance to such acts of an educator.

“I received the reports from the division this morning and I already forwarded to the legal [office] for action. We will not tolerate such acts of a teacher. We will deal with it accordingly,” Dr. Salustiano Jimenez, DepEd 7 director, said in an interview with GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak.

The news team tried to pursue the teacher for comment but he refused an interview.
