Six barangays in Calasiao, Pangasinan have been placed in the watchlist by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) due to heavy rains and potential flooding caused by Tropical Storm #EntengPH.

The six barangays include Longos, Lumbang, San Vicente, Mancup, Talibew, and Lasip.

Heavy rainfall has been affecting Pangasinan and in Calasiao, roads have been unusually clear as residents opted to stay indoors.

Bong Rivera, a resident, braved the downpour to take his market stall down temporarily.

"Kailangan maghanap-buhay, nagliligpit na kami ng tolda. Tinatanggal na ang tolda, ulan na," he said.

The MDRRMO in Calasiao has raised its alert status to Blue Alert due to the effects of the storm.

They have intensified monitoring of the Marusay River and other tributaries.

As of midday on September 2, 2024, water at the Marusay River reached 5.7 feet, which is above normal.

"Over the weekend, bumaba siya. Last Friday kasi, nasa 7.5 ft. tayo," Kristine Joy Soriano, spokesperson for the MDRRMO-Calasiao, said.

MDRRMO-Calasiao assured that the necessary resources and personnel are prepared to respond if flooding occurs.

"’Yung ating mga resources ay naka-preposition. On-standby ang ating mga personnel. Mayroon tayong tatlong shift at tatlong team naka-ready," Soriano said.
