Fishermen in Dagupan City have stopped going out to sea due to #EntengPH, which has brought heavy rains and strong winds and triggered huge waves.

In Purok Pagkakaisa in Barangay Bonuan Gueset, fishing boats were left idle along the shore.

Residents living near the shore are worried about the impact of the typhoon on their food supply.

"Natakot po kami kasi ‘pag bagyo, wala silang makukuhang isda, wala kaming makakain. Diyan lang kasi kami umaasa. Manghihingi kami para may pang-ulam," Jesselyn Macalma, a resident, said.

WEATHER FORECAST

According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), rainy weather is expected in Pangasinan until Wednesday, September 4, 2024, with some towns in the province currently under Signal Number 1.

"Bumibilis po siya [si Enteng] pataas, pagdating sa gilid ng area ng Cagayan, sa landmass, medyo babagal na kasi maraming obstruction na pipigil sa kanya," Engr. Jose Estrada, Jr., Chief Meteorological Officer at PAGASA-Dagupan Station, said.

PREPAREDNESS AND MONITORING

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) has been monitoring towns under tropical cyclone wind signals and has been keeping an eye on water level of rivers.

Since Saturday, August 31, 2024, the PDRRMO has been on Blue Alert status.

"Kinonvene natin through Zoom ang ating responders para pag-usapan kung ano ‘yung panganib na pwedeng idulot ng Bagyong Enteng at habagat," Avenix Arenas, Assistant Pangasinan DRRM Officer, said.
