Tropical Storm #EntengPH has left over 700 passengers stranded in the CALABARZON and Bicol region, two dead in Central Visayas, and widespread disruptions in maritime operations as of 8 a.m. on September 2, 2024.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that the storm affected 14 families or 63 individuals, with 43 seeking refuge in evacuation centers and the remaining 20 receiving assistance outside.

At least two deaths and 10 injuries were also confirmed in Region 7.

#EntengPH's strong winds and heavy rains led to the suspension of 14 seaport operations—12 in Bicol and two in CALABARZON—leaving 679 passengers, 271 rolling cargoes, 16 vessels, and one motorbanca stranded in Bicol alone.

In CALABARZON, 60 passengers, 11 rolling cargoes, six vessels, and three motorbancas were stranded due to the storm.

The storm's devastation extended to infrastructure, with 10 houses reported damaged in Region 7, nine of which were destroyed.

A Low Pressure Area on August 31, 2024, #EntengPH intensified into a tropical storm by September 1 and continued to strengthen as it moved northwest. The storm is expected to make landfall over Isabela or Cagayan afternoon or evening on September 2, with a slight possibility of shifting westward to northern Aurora.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) forecasts that Enteng will intensify further, potentially reaching severe tropical storm status by September 4 and possibly typhoon strength by September 5 or 6 as it crosses the Philippine Sea.

With the storm's trajectory and intensification, residents in the areas affected are urged to remain vigilant and heed evacuation orders and safety advisories.

The NDRRMC continues to monitor the situation closely, with further updates expected as #EntengPH progresses.
