State weather bureau PAGASA warned of serious flooding in several parts of the Visayas as heavy rainfall is expected morning on Sunday, September 1, 2024, due to a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon.

In its 8 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said serious flooding may be expected in low-lying parts and landslides in mountainous parts in these areas where Red Warning Level was raised:  

Eastern Samar; Samar; Biliran; Leyte; Southern Leyte; and Cebu (Bantayan, Madridejos, Santa Fe, Daanbantayan, Medellin, Pilar, Tudela, Poro, San Francisco, San Remigio, Bogo City, Tabogon, Sogod, Tabuelan, Borbon, Tuburan, Catmon, Asturias, Carmen, Danao City, Compostela, Liloan, Consolacion, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, Cordova, Cebu City, Balamban, Toledo City, Talisay City, Minglanilla, Naga City, Pinamungahan, San Fernando, Aloguinsan, Carcar);

Meanwhile, a Yellow Warning Level was raised in the following areas where flooding is still possible in low-lying parts and landslides in mountainous parts:

Bohol; Negros Oriental; Siquijor; and Cebu (Sibonga, Santander, Samboan, Ronda, Oslob, Moalboal, Malabuyoc, Ginatilan, Dumanjug, Danao Lake, Dalaguete, Boljoon, Barili, Badian, Argao, Alegria, Alcoy, Alcantara).
