Police have accused members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) of pointing laser lights at helicopters hovering above the KOJC compound in Davao City.

The police said they are bent on filing a complaint against members who allegedly pointed laser lights at pilots in an attempt to affect vision.

“Yung laser mismo ay nakatutok sa ating piloto. Talagang hindi namin matatanggap ang ginagawa nila. We are keen on pursuing complaint. Alam niyo na po ang maging epekto kapag ito ay, blinded ang ating piloto at bumagsak,” said Police Brig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, acting director for Police Community Relations of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

However, Atty. Israelito Torreon, KOJC chief legal counsel, said that it remains an allegation.

“That is an allegation, that remains an allegation. Note that there was an overwhelming presence of PNP officers inside the KOJC compound. They are practically in control of the KOJC compound,” Torreon said in a phone interview.

Earlier on Thursday, Torreon said that police mobile were seen outside of Glory Mountain in Barangay Tamayong, Davao City. On Friday afternoon, they were again seen going up Tamayong.

“This proves one thing, they are really engaged in a phishing expedition. They do not have probable cause. They do not have personal knowledge that Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is inside the compound of KOJC,” Torreon added.

The PNP has not confirmed whether they will get inside KOJC properties in the said barangay.

“The concern now of the PNP is not only focused sa loob ng KOJC. It’s everywhere else, as long as we receive valid, reliable, highly accurate intelligence information ay pupuntahan po natin, at hahanapin natin sila,” Alba said.

PNP said though that  they have no timeline for the operation.

“Our timeline here is as long as we bring to justice, to the courts, I mean ‘yung subject ng warrants of arrest,” Alba further stated.
