The Naga City Police Office (NCPO) is probing a violent fraternity initiation caught on video, where a student was beaten severely by fellow students.

A disturbing video has surfaced showing a student from Naga City being blindfolded and beaten by other students.

The victim was barely able to sit and stand after the assault.

The exact location of the incident remains unknown, but the incident is suspected to be part of a fraternity's initiation or welcome rites.

The NCPO has received the video and is currently investigating the incident.

"Igwa na pong nangyaring coordination an satong WCPD (Women and Children Protection Desk) ta mga minors ito sa eskwelahan na involved," PMaj. Alex Sumayao, Station Commander of NCPO Station 3, said.

"And sa ngonian po nasa process sinda ning pag-conduct ning imbestigasyon an eskwelahan," Sumayao added.

The school involved has identified the students in the video who are believed to be from the Junior High School level.

The school condemned the violent actions, stating that such behavior has no place in their institution.

The students involved may face expulsion depending on the results of the ongoing investigation.

Another school, where one of the involved students attends, is also cooperating with authorities.

The students involved in the incident are undergoing psycho-social and emotional intervention to address the trauma they experienced.

The Department of Education (DepEd) in Naga City has expressed its strong condemnation of the incident.

"Ini po ay kinokondenar po ini kan satuyang department, dae po ini pigtotolerate kan satuyang department," Fernando Macaraig, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent (ASDS) of the Naga City Schools Division Office (SDO), said.

"Igwa po kita nin mga issuances, igwa kita nin republic act against hazing—ini po ay satuya pong hihingwahon na ma-address," Macaraig added.

DepEd Naga will increase monitoring of secondary schools in the city, especially those potentially influenced by fraternities, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
