Three people died and several others were missing after two boats sank while returning to Caluya Island, Antique from a trip to Boracay.

The two boats, carrying 20 people from Camarines Sur, sank due to unfavorable weather conditions.

One of the boats capsized, and another also went down due to strong waves.

At least 10 survivors were rescued from the waters near San Jose, Romblon.

Meanwhile, three bodies were found off the coast of Looc, Romblon.

One of the deceased was confirmed to be from Tigaon, Camarines Sur.

“May mga gasgas din naman, but according sa ating doctor na nag-conduct ng post mortem, is dahil na po iyon sa pagtama sa mga bato, at kalimitan is bloated na; so, indikasyon ng pagkalunod," PMAJ John Anthony Angio, Acting Chief of Police at Looc Municipal Police Station, said.

The boats were reportedly overloaded and had no coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard.

“Base sa mga interview natin sa mga survivor, lalo dito sa kapitan na siya rin ang owner ng bangka, wala silang coordination kahit sa Philippine Coast Guard," PMAJ Francis Rey Manito, Acting Chief of Police at San Jose Municipal Police Station, said.

"Sa lakas ng alon, at nakikita ko, base sa mga picture nila, overloaded talaga ‘yung bangka," Manito added.

Search, rescue, and retrieval operations are still underway for the seven missing passengers from the sunken boats, as of this writing.
