Heavy rains caused by the southwest monsoon flooded the national highway in San Fernando, Camarines Sur.

Meanwhile, the spillway at Sitia Pagasa in Barangay San Agustin, Pili, Camarines Sur was impassable due to floodwaters.

"Dae ako mapirit diyan ay — eh matirik ni diyan," Pedring Chavez, a tricycle driver, said.

Floodwaters from a nearby creek also entered homes along the highway.

Salvador Olvido, a resident, expressed his fears about the sudden floods.

"Syempre sisay man an dae matatakot kaiyan, ma ka na yan maaraman pag inugpaan dae maaram an tao," Olvido said.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of San Fernando inspected upper barangays immediately and monitored spillways and areas prone to landslides.

Jason Asuero, head of MDRRMO San Fernando, assured residents of immediate assistance when needed.

"Anytime po pag may naghagad samuya nin tabang—dagus - dagos [and] tulos ta man yan [hahatudan] nin tabang, pirming mag-monitor kang satuyang weather forecast, magpasiguro kan satuyang mga gamit," he said.
