Two men carted away items worth around P1 million from different stalls in a mall in San Carlos City.

The burglars sneaked inside a mall in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental through a hole on the floor of a stall.

The burglary was caught on CCTV camera on August 19, 2024.

“Ang sa dalawang suspek, blur kasi gabi ito nakuha. Walang ilaw, black and white lang. Ang sa footage sa labas, medyo blur rin kasi mga alas singko pasado ito (ng madaling araw),” Lt. Col. Nazer Canja, chief of San Carlos City Police Station, said.

Police said that aside from the two suspects, a third companion was inside a white getaway vehicle.

Authorities received information from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) that the owner of the getaway vehicle is already determined.

Lt. Col. Canja made it clear that the incident has nothing to do with a so-called Termite Gang contrary to earlier reports.

Canja said that the word “termite” came up when a hole on the floor of the mall was seen where the perpetrators gained access into the establishment.

“Para kasi silang anay [or] termite, [but] there is no such thing as termite gang. Usually, ang gang, pangalan or first or last name (ng isang tao). Kapag sinabing termite, that is modus,” Canja said.
