A 48-year-old woman in Daet, Camarines Norte died after her husband allegedly threw her to the ground during a heated argument.

The alleged incident occurred outside a garbage hauling facility in Barangay Dogongan where both the victim and her 46-year-old husband worked as garbage collectors.

According to the Daet Municipal Police Station (MPS), responding officers arrived in time to apprehend the suspect before he could flee.

A witness said the couple had been arguing before the husband allegedly picked up his wife up and threw her down, causing her head to hit the ground. This resulted in severe injuries.

"Nagkaroon na ng heated argument yung mag-asawa, hindi nagkaintindihan, ngayon may nangyaring insidente na naibalibag ata, ang term na ginamit sa atin [ay] nabalibag nung lalaki yung asawa," PLTCOL Errol Garchitorena Jr., Chief of Police at Daet Municipal Police Station (MPS), said.

The husband denied the accusations.

"Hindi po, hinawakan ko siya dito, binuhat ko siya palabas ng gate kasi nga ayaw ng mga kasama ko maingay sa loob kasi sige niya daldal doon, ngayon paglabas ko sa kanya sa gate, sinarado ko yung gate," he said.

The suspect claimed that after closing the gate of the facility, the victim re-entered the premises and he noticed later that she was bleeding. He reportedly rushed her to the hospital but she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The suspect is now in police custody and faces charges of parricide.
