The provincial government of Laguna has confirmed cases of African Swine Fever (ASF) in two cities and one town.
According to the Provincial Veterinary Office in Laguna, the LGUs affected are the following:
- San Pablo City (1 barangay)
- Calamba City (2 barangays)
- Nagcarlan (2 barangays)
In response, the Provincial Government of Laguna is now distributing disinfectants to the areas affected.
"'Yung population naman natin dito sa Laguna, hindi naman ganoon kadami compared to 'yung ibang probinsiya dito sa CALABARZON," Dr. Mary Grace Bustamante of the Provincial Veterinary Office-Laguna, said.
Those transporting goods to Laguna are required to present several documents to ensure biosecurity.
These include a veterinary health certificate, local shipping permit, livestock handler’s license, and transport carrier accreditation.
