A passenger bus caught fire on the road between Hanawan and Old Moriones in Ocampo, Camarines Sur.

The bus was headed to Lagonoy from Naga City and was carrying about 10 passengers.

According to the Ocampo Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), faulty electrical wiring in the engine compartment triggered the fire.

The conductor attempted to extinguish the flames with a fire extinguisher but the fire grew quickly.

Despite the quick response, the flames consumed a significant portion of the bus.

No passenger was injured in the incident.

Authorities reminded the public to always ensure that their vehicles are equipped with fire extinguishers, and train both conductors and drivers on how to use them.

“Sa gabos na mga bus—sa mga owner po i-ensure ta po na equipped an satuyang mga bus ning fire extinguishers enot nae not po yan," SFO1 Michael Ray Rivero, Chief Intelligence and Investigation Unit from the BFP Ocampo Camarines Sur, said.

"So panduwa, i-train ‘ta po an satuyang mga conductors asin driver on how to use the fire extinguisher," Rivero added.
