Nineteen former police station commanders in Davao City are facing administrative charges for allegedly manipulating police blotters, the Police Regional Office-Davao (PRO-11) said.

In an interview with GMA Super Radyo Davao, PRO-11 Director, Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III, said the 19 police officials were given 72 hours to submit their explanation on the matter.

Torre said their explanation will be the basis for evaluation if there is a need for a deeper probe through summary hearing procedures.

It can be recalled that the 19 officials were relieved from their posts for allegedly manipulating police records to make it appear that the crime rate in the city is low.

Torre even dared Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte to charge him of perjury if the mayor can prove that he was lying about the alleged manipulation of police records.

However, Duterte said it is Torre who needs to prove first that his claims are true.

“He has to prove first kanang iyang blue blotter na sinasabi na totoo ‘yon because otherwise if he cannot prove it then is lying. He is the one who has to prove something not me,” Duterte earlier said.
