A motorcycle rider in Zamboanga City lost half of his thumb after he got snagged by dangling cables while driving in Barangay Talisayan.

Investigation showed that the man’s thumb got caught in a dangling wire and he was thrown off his motorcycle. The impact cut his thumb.

According to the barangay council, it was not the first time that a motorist figured in an accident because of ‘spaghetti wires.’

As temporary solution, officials of the barangay fixed the dangling wires for the safety of motorists and pedestrians.

However, they called on telecommunication companies that own the wires to help address the problem.

The City Administrator’s Office also said the Task Force Alambre continues to remove all dangling cables in the city.

Wendel Sotto, said.
